Family as a Sacrifice
What if you date a guy and your parents are strongly against him. What if all your relatives and friends are against him for some reason that seems trivial and senseless to you? He's a son of a Mafioso, so what?? We cannot choose our parents, that's not his fault if his father is a criminal and local fat cat!
Then you find out your guy's father and whole family is strongly against you because you're a simple girl with no money or work while their son deserves a queen! Or at least a woman with worthy parents and normal income! Your guy recently proposed to you, and when your parents found out about it, they firmly pointed out that if you choose him, you immediately stop being their daughter – forever and for always.
You are shocked, you have no idea what to do. You love your parents but you can't leave your boyfriend because you love him deeply and truly want to marry him. Then his father finds out about his proposal to you... His threat is much more serious than your parents' – he's a criminal after all. What will you do in this creepy situation. Definitely, you will sacrifice your family for your love, will sacrifice their opinion and will pray and hope for their ability to understand you one sweet day. If your boyfriend loves you, he will make the same sacrifice as well.
When a person sacrifices his or her family and their opinion, their desires and often even demands like in the situation described above, it's a truly difficult choice. On the one hand you don't want to stay all alone in this world without anyone to help you or support you or even talk to you except for the object of your love i.e. you practically lose your family; on the other hand, you cannot make another – less painful choice because it will mean that you won't be together with the person you love.
